This month, ZipRecruiter released data from a survey of more than 1,500 college graduates who were looking for a job. The data revealed that 44% of the job seekers with college degrees regretted their field of study.
Here’s the ten most-regretted college majors, and the percentage of graduates with that major who said they have regrets.
- Journalism – 87%
- Sociology – 72%
- Liberal arts/general studies – 72%
- Communications – 64%
- Education – 61%
- Marketing management + research – 60%
- Medical/clinical assisting – 58%
- Political science + government – 56%
- Biology – 52%
- English language + literature – 52%
Of the graduates who regretted their major, most said that, if they could go back, they would now choose computer science or business administration instead, according to ZipRecruiter.
