We are a wealth management company located in Montclair, NJ seeking an Associate Wealth Advisor for our growing team. Our company understands the particular needs of high-net-worth individuals and families. We have developed a consultative approach to assist with all aspects of wealth management, including investment management, retirement planning, tax planning, risk management, estate planning and other complex financial issues. This is a full-time position that will support the firm’s lead advisor directly in managing existing and new client relationships. You will be expected to assist in various projects including portfolio reviews and preparing financial projections. Thorough computer and technology skills are essential with the ability to quickly learn new software. A working knowledge of portfolio allocation and investment management is expected. The lead advisors are available to provide mentoring and big picture direction, but you must have the ability to utilize critical thinking skills, work independently, and anticipate firm needs and client questions.
What you will get to do:
- Regularly monitor clients’ financial situations with attention to detail and accuracy
- Involvement in all aspects of pre-client meeting activities such as preparation of meeting agendas, client paperwork, Investment Policy Statements, asset allocations as well as post-client meeting tasks such as developing meeting notes, performing financial situation analyses, and coordinating planning implementation with outside professionals if necessary
- Prepare financial plans and retirement projections
- Work with our custodial platforms and the various other software programs we employ listed below under Qualifications
- Assist with trading and rebalancing of client investment accounts
- Follow up on firm generated leads
- Sources prospective client opportunities by capitalizing on networking and referrals
- Develop and maintain written system of all activities
- Maintain client records in CRM and document management software
- Participate in firm project and staff meetings, client events or others as needed
- Interact with clients over the phone and in-person professionally and respectfully
- Troubleshoot computer software, serve as backup for operational and admin activities
- Facilitate efficient office operations including leading and assisting with process and system improvement projects
- Performs other duties as instructed
Required Qualifications :
- B.A. or B.S. degree from accredited CFP Board registered financial planning program or equivalent experience
- CFP certification or on track towards CFP® certification within reasonable timeframe
- Series 65 license or attainment within 3-6 months of employment
- Strong financial and analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to identify, meet and follow through with client needs and requirements
- Must be a self-starter, problem solver and a goal-oriented team player with a ‘no job is beneath me’ attitude
- Organized, with a strong attention to detail
- Able to perform multiple tasks efficiently; sometimes at the same time
- Show curiosity and confidence when dealing with clients and lead advisors
- Operates with a firm understanding of the fiduciary responsibility and with personal integrity
- Specific experience working with Redtail, eMoney, Morningstar Office, MoneyGuidePro
