Once upon a time, Stingy Jack had a drink with the Devil. And because he had no money he convinced the Devil to turn into a silver coin and buy the drinks. The Devil agreed, only to be trapped in Stingy Jack’s pocket by a silver cross. Stingy Jack made a deal with the devil. He’d let the Devil out of the coin if agreed not to claim his soul when he died. The Devil agreed. Years later Stingy Jack died. The Devil honored his deal, but God said Jack was too stingy to come to heaven. Stuck on Earth, between heaven and hell Jack carved a lantern and wandered the night. It is said you know he is nearby when you see a Jack O’lantern sparkling bright.
