Even though 10 million people are unemployed, we’re not in that bad of a state — especially when you consider what’s happened with the economy shut-down following the COVID-19 pandemic. There are a couple of reasons why:
- Monetary policy.
- The CAREs Act Stimulus Package.
The stimulus packages were most significant, because there was money being pumped into the economy through stimulus checks, there was a federal unemployment insurance and there were different loans and payroll relief offered to employers — a lot of which helped business owners keep their head above water and help consumers pay their bills.
