The United States economy added 850,000 jobs in June, beating estimates by just over 20%!
Hospitality added 343,000 jobs, thanks in large part to easing COVID-19 restrictions across the country. Education also made significant gains in June, adding 269,000 jobs.
At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, 22.3 million people were laid off… With June’s gains in the books, the total job recovery stands at about 15.6 million. Things appear to be trending in the right direction, but we need to see another 7 million jobs added before the jobs market is back to it’s pre-pandemic high.
