Science has confirmed what mothers everywhere have known for centuries — when a child gets insufficient sleep, it can harm their mental health.
A new study has found that, after sleep restriction, children experience changes in their ability to regulate and express their emotions. The study found that children with anxiety suffered the most from insufficient sleep.
Fortunately, the solution here is simple… though not always easy to do: enforcing a bedtime and removing distractions like phones, tablets and TVs from your child’s bedroom can go a long way to promoting their mental health.
