Last Friday, March 27th, the Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Stimulus Act (CARES) was passed into Law. The bill provides a stimulus package of $2 Trillion of relief to individuals, families, small businesses and state and local governments.
Below is a breakdown on how that $2 trillion is divvied up.

A little over a week later and there is a lot of confusion around how to take advantage of it.
I put together two podcasts and articles this week explaining what options are available. The first one I published covered which benefits of the CARES Act can individuals and families take advantage of. There are recovery rebate checks, unemployment benefits on steroids, unprecedented access to use your retirement plan, and a moratorium for student borrowers who have federal loans.

The second podcast covered the CARES Act and the provisions to help out small businesses. This is where a lot of the confusion is. There are multiple programs that businesses can take advantage of and I received a lot of questions around:
- What are the eligibility requirements?
- Do I have to personally guarantee the loan or provide any collateral?
- What do the loan funds have to be used for?
- Is the loan forgivable?
- What’s the maximum amount of loan I can receive?
- How do I apply?
I cover those questions and more on the episode
