Interested in eating healthy to live longer? The Longevity Diet may be for you.
Researchers have examined hundreds of studies on diet, disease and longevity and have come to some conclusions. According to the research, the key factors of the Longevity Diet include:
- Moderate/high consumption of non-refined carbohydrates, like legumes, whole grains and vegetables.
- Low, but adequate, intake of protein mostly from plant sources and white meat.
- Enough plant-based fats to give you about 30% of your energy needs.
Additionally, eatings should occur within a 12-hour window, leaving enough time for a daily fasting period.
In general, legumes, whole grains, vegetables, fish, white meat, nuts, olive oil and dark chocolate are the staples of this diet.
